She changed her surname to Eiffel after an oath ceremony with the French tower. Erika clarified that she finds her type of love misunderstood by society, as many people visit the Eiffel Tower as tourists rather than expressing love for it. A documentary called “Married to the Eiffel Tower” was released, but the OS community felt it portrayed their experiences inaccurately, linking them to control, abuse, and mental illness.
Erika stated that her sexual orientation caused her rejection from friends and family, but it also empowered her to achieve great things. She became a four-time world champion due to her deep relationships with objects like her Japanese sword, archery bow, and tower crane. While her relationship with the Eiffel Tower eventually ended after a decade, Erika acknowledged that it would always hold a special place in her heart.
She highlighted the similarities between OS and people having sentimental connections to certain objects, but emphasized that most individuals do not possess the instinct to form such deep bonds. Erika also dismissed claims that her OS was a result of failed relationships with humans, asserting that she had maintained good friendships and social interactions but never felt drawn to romantic relationships.
