UTME Score Update: JAMB Says They No Longer Use the notification slip displayed by Ejikeme Mmesoma Since 2021 – JAMB Slam 3 years Ban on Her.
In a surprising turn of events, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced on Tuesday that it had stopped using the print-out presented by Anambra candidate, Mmesoma Ejikeme, as her authentic result in 2021. The board further reiterated its position, labeling the UTME result paraded by Ejikeme as “patently fake.”
JAMB's spokesman, Fabian Benjamin, released a statement on Tuesday morning to clarify the board's stance. According to Benjamin, out of all the candidates who participated in the 2023 UTME, only Mmesoma presented the “obsolete” notification slip. He emphasized that the board's system was neither tampered with nor compromised, as Ejikeme had falsified a copy of a result slip belonging to another candidate, Asimiyu Mariam Omobolanle, who had sat the UTME in 2021 and scored 138.
Benjamin highlighted an interesting point made by Ejikeme herself, which inadvertently revealed the rightful owner of the result she was parading. She pointed out that the QR code on the result slip displayed the actual owner of the said result before attempting to deceive others. To support its claim, JAMB urged the public to scan the QR code on the result slip to verify the actual owner's identity before it was manipulated. The QR code contains the UTME result of each candidate, making the information on the result sheet nothing more than an interpretation of the data embedded in the code.
Additionally, Benjamin informed the public that the Board had ceased issuing Notification of Result slips after the 2021 UTME due to candidates falsifying them. Instead, since 2022, JAMB has issued actual UTME RESULT Slips, complete with each candidate's photograph. Therefore, it is perplexing that only Mmesoma Ejikeme continues to parade the outdated “Notification of Result” among all the candidates who sat for the 2023 UTME.
Consequently, taking into account the severity of the violation committed by Mmesoma Ejikeme, JAMB's management has withdrawn her 2023 UTME result and imposed a three-year ban on her from sitting for the Board's examinations.
As the story develops, more details will be revealed regarding this incident.
