One of the most notable events in American history that will be remembered is the events of January 6, 2021, which are considered to be a dark time in the country's history. Angry protesters swarmed the United States Capitol building in an attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. The attack resulted in five dead, including a Capitol police officer. It also left many injured and hundreds arrested.

It has been months since the attack, and the list of people who were taken into custody for their alleged involvement in the attack grows ever longer. As of now, federal authorities have charged over 300 people with various crimes related to the attack, including unlawful entry, vandalism, and assaulting officers.

The majority of those arrested are from out of state, though some are from Washington, D.C. and its surrounding areas. Among those arrested were members of known far-right extremist groups, including the Proud Boys, the Three Percenters, and the Oath Keepers.
