Reacher
Reacher is an American action crime tv series from Amazon Prime Video and developed by Nick Santora. The series is based on the Jack Reacher book series by Lee Child, it stars Alan Ritchson as the title character, a drifter and former military policeman who battles dangerous criminals throughout his travels.
The first season which revolves around the Killing Floor, Child's 1997 debut novel, was released on the 4th of February 2022. A second season is on the way, and will be based on Bad Luck and Trouble.
Jack Reacher, an ex-U.S. Army military policeman, visits the fictitious rural town of Margrave, Georgia, and gets apprehended for murder. After he gained his freedom, he teamed up with Roscoe Conklin and Oscar Finlay to investigate a massive conspiracy with unscrupulous police officers, businessmen and politicians.
2. Black Bird
Black Bird is an American crime drama limited series adapted from the 2010 autobiographical novel In with the Devil: a Fallen Hero, a Serial Killer, and a Dangerous Bargain for Redemption by James Keene and Hillel Levin. The six-episode miniseries premiered on July 8, 2022, on Apple TV+. The series was widely acclaimed by critics, with particular praise toward its cast.
James ‘Jimmy' Keene was a star football player in his youth, and he received several college football scholarships. Instead of pursuing this opportunity, he chose to stay in the Chicago area to support his business. However, he turned to a life of crime and began dealing narcotics until he was arrested as part of a wider sting called Operation Snowplow.
He accepted a plea deal with what he believed to be a five-year sentence, but he was released on parole after only four years. In addition to his drug dealing, he was charged with possession of several illegal firearms, and he was sentenced to ten years without parole.
Given his natural charm and charisma, he was offered an opportunity for a commuted sentence with no conditions by federal authorities. But this is the story of the dangerous deal he was offered and what happened next.
The Sandman
The Sandman is an American fantasy drama television series adapted from the 1989–1996 comic book of the same name written by Neil Gaiman and published by DC Comics. The series was designed by Gaiman, David S. Goyer, and Allan Heinberg for the streaming company Netflix, and is produced by DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television.
Following in the footsteps of the comic, The Sandman tells the story of Dream/Morpheus, the titular Sandman. The series features Tom Sturridge as the title character, with Vivienne Acheampong, Patton Oswalt and Boyd Holbrook in supporting roles.
Adapting The Sandman to film was first attempted in 1991, but the project languished in development hell for many years. In 2013, Goyer pitched a movie adaptation of the series to Warner Bros. Goyer and Gaiman were set to produce in collaboration Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who was planned to star and possibly direct.
However, Gordon-Levitt exited over visionary differences in 2016. Netflix signed an agreement to make the series in June 2019, and filming began from October 2020 to August 2021.
In 2013, Goyer pitched a movie adaptation of the series to Warner Bros. Goyer and Gaiman were set to produce it, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the star and possibly the director. But in 2016 Gordon-Levitt left due to innovative differences. Warner Bros. eventually decided to focus on television instead of movies, and Netflix signed a deal to produce the series in June 2019. Filming lasted from October 2020 to August 2021.
The Sandman aired on August 5, 2022, with a following episode premiering on August 19. It was received well by most critics, with commendation given to the casting, production design, costumes, faithfulness to its original material, visual effects, and performances–particularly those of Sturridge and David Thewlis.
Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story
Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story is an American limited series that aired on Netflix in 2022. It tells the story of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer and stars Evan Peters as Dahmer, alongside Richard Jenkins, Molly Ringwald, Niecy Nash, and Michael Learned.
The series was well-received by audiences and reached the number-one spot on Netflix in its first week of release. However, it received mixed reviews from critics, with some praising the acting and calling it a well-made show, while others found it to be exploitative.
Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story explores the motive and methods of Jeffrey Dahmer, a serial killer who committed murders between 1978 and 1991.
Vikings: Valhalla
The historical drama television series, Vikings: Valhalla, is a sequel to History's Vikings, created by Jeb Stuart. It is filmed in County Wicklow, Ireland, and is set one hundred years after the events of Vikings. The series follows the beginning of the end of the Viking Age, marked by the Battle of Stamford Bridge in 1066.
The first season, consisting of 8 episodes, premiered on February 25, 2022. With a 24-episode order announced in November 2019, the series was officially renewed for a second and third season in March 2022. The second season is planned to be released in 2023.
The series is set a hundred years after the events of the Vikings, just as tensions between the Vikings and English royals are coming to a boiling point. The Vikings themselves are also clashing over their conflicting Christian and pagan beliefs.
Leif Erikson, Freydís Eiríksdóttir and Harald Hardrada begin an epic journey that takes them across oceans and through battlefields, from the Kattegat to England and beyond. They fight for survival and glory as the Viking Age comes to an end, marked by the Battle of Stamford Bridge in 1066.
The old man
The Old Man is drama thriller television series from America that aired on FX from June 16, 2022, to the present. The series is based on the 2017 novel of the same name by Thomas Perry and was developed by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine. The show was renewed for a second season after the premiere of the first season, which consisted of seven episodes.
Dan Chase (Jeff Bridges), an ex-CIA agent, has been living off the grid for 30 years in Vermont. After killing an intruder who breaks into his house, Chase is compelled to go into hiding. While he was hiding, Chase leases an apartment from Zoe McDonald (Amy Brenneman), which resulted in a forceful partnership while on the run.
Assistant Director for Counterintelligence of the FBI Harold Harper (John Lithgow) is appointed to bring in Dan Chase because of their difficult past during the Soviet-Afghan War. Harper is Working alongside his proteges, CIA officer Raymond Waters (E. J. Bonilla), and FBI agent Angela Adams (Alia Shawkat) in collaboration with Julian Carson (Gbenga Akinnagbe), a hit-man hired by Harper to kill Chase.
The Rings of Power
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is an American fictional TV series inspired by J. R. R. Tolkien's fictional story The Lord of the Rings and its appendices. Showrunners J. D. Payne and Patrick McKay created the series for the Amazon Prime Video streaming service. Set in the Second Age of Middle-earth, the series is set thousands of years before Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Amazon Studios produces the series in partnership with HarperCollins and New Line Cinema, with consultation from the Tolkien Estate.
Set in the thousands of years preceding the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, the series is based on J. R. R. Tolkien's history of Middle-earth. The series starts during a time of peace and covers all the key events of Middle-earth's Second Age: the forging of the Rings of Power, the ascension of the Dark Lord Sauron, the fall of the Númenor island kingdom, and the final alliance between Elves and Men. These events span thousands of years in Tolkien's original stories, but are condensed for the series.
Terminal List
The Terminal List is an action thriller TV series inspired by Jack Carr's 2018 book of the same name. The series narrates the story of a Navy SEAL who seeks to avenge the murder of his family. It stars Chris Pratt (who also serves as an executive producer), Riley Keough, Arlo Mertz, Constance Wu, Taylor Kitsch, and Jeanne Tripplehorn.
The series talks about Lieutenant Commander James Reece (Chris Pratt) and his platoon of Navy SEALs that were ambushed while on a secret mission. Reece comes back home to his family with contradicting recollections of the event and questions about his culpability. As fresh evidence is unveiled, Reece learns of dark forces working against him, threatening not only his life but the lives of his loved ones.
Peacemaker series
Peacemaker is an American superhero television series created by James Gunn for HBO Max, based on the DC Comics character of the same name. The series is set after the events of the 2021 film The Suicide Squad and follows the adventures of jingoistic killer Christopher Smith / Peacemaker. The series is produced by The Safran Company and Troll Court Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Television, with Gunn serving as showrunner.
HBO Max's Peacemaker Premiered on January 13, 2022, with its first three episodes, with the rest of the series released weekly until February 17. Each episode garnered more viewers than the last, with the season finale setting the record for the highest single-day viewership of an HBO Max original episode.
The series has received positive reviews, with high marks given to Cena's performance and Gunn's directing and writing. A second season was ordered in February 2022, with Gunn set to write and direct all episodes. Additionally, several other The Suicide Squad spin-off series featuring characters from the film and Peacemaker are in development.
After Christopher Smith / Peacemaker recovers from the injuries he sustained during the events of The Suicide Squad (2021), he is roped into joining the mysterious A.R.G.U.S. black ops squad “Project Butterfly”. Together, they must identify and eliminate parasitic butterfly-like creatures who have taken over human bodies around the world.
House of the dragon
House of the Dragon is an American fantasy drama TV series, and the second show in the franchise. It is a prequel to Game of Thrones (2011–2019), created by George R. R. Martin and Ryan Condal for HBO. Both sequels are inspired by A Song of Ice and Fire fictional book by Martin. Condal and Miguel Sapochnik are the showrunners.
Set about 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen, and 100 years after the Seven Kingdoms are united by the Targaryen Conquest, the series is based on parts of the novel Fire & Blood. It portrays the beginning of the end of House Targaryen, and the events leading up to and covering the Targaryen civil war of succession, known as the “Dance of the Dragons”.
The White Lotus
The White Lotus is an American satire-drama anthology TV sequel made by Mike White for HBO. It shows the employees and guests of the fictitious White Lotus resort chain, whose stay was affected by their diverse dysfunctions. The maiden season is set in Hawaii meanwhile the second season will be made in Sicily.
